Award in Caring for Children

Level 1 Award in Caring for Children

To better support your learning experience, we are now offering two separate sessions for the NCFE CACHE Level 1 course.

This new setup gives you the flexibility to select the session that best fits your personal schedule and commitments. Whether you prefer to study earlier in the day or later, you now have the freedom to choose the time that works best for you.

The Level 1 Award in Caring for Children encourages an understanding of the knowledge and the skills needed to care for young children.

Entry Requirements

This course is suitable for parents, carers and nannies or those looking to enter the childcare profession. Learners should be at least 14 years old.

How will I be taught and what will I learn?

Learners can choose to study in a classroom setting with experienced and knowledgeable tutors or take the course fully online at their own pace. You will learn about the growth and development of young children, play and self-development, and much more.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed by your tutor or assessor using a range of methods. This could include tasks such as designing charts or leaflets, coursework, or methods such as oral questioning.

What can I do after this course?

This qualification is a great starting point to help you prepare for further training, such as progressing to a Level 2 course. It can also boost your application if you're aiming to become a private carer, work in a baby care centre, or be a family nanny.
