The Level 1 Award in Caring for Children encourages an understanding of the knowledge and the skills needed to care for young children.
Entry Requirements
This course is suitable for parents, carers and nannies or those looking to enter the childcare profession. Learners should be at least 14 years old.
This face-to-face session requires a minimum of at least 7 or more participants for the course to go ahead. It is highly recommended for settings looking to further develop their staff’s knowledge and skills in caring for young children. Ideal for group bookings, this training offers an excellent opportunity to enhance team learning in a practical, hands-on environment.
How will I be taught and what will I learn?
Learners will be taught in a classroom setting by experienced and knowledgeable tutors. You will learn about the growth and development of young children, play and self-development, and much more.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed by your tutor or assessor using a range of methods. This could include tasks such as designing charts or leaflets, coursework, or methods such as oral questioning.
What can I do after this course?
This qualification is a great starting point to help you prepare for further training, such as progressing to a Level 2 course. It can also boost your application if you're aiming to become a private carer, work in a baby care centre, or be a family nanny.
