Sarah Rogers
BA(Hons) with Cert. of Education B. Philosophy MA in Education
Sarah is the Director of Early Years Educational Services (EYES) a Ministry of Social Affairs accreditted educational training company. EYES are an accredited overseas centre for the Council for Awards in Childcare, Health and Education (CACHE) UK , which award qualifications to gain professional competency to become an under 5’s teacher or a Lead Teaching Assistant in a Primary School.
EYES also provide high quality continuing professional development courses and support to educational professionals in the UAE drawing on best international practice. Sarah has over 25 years’ experience of working in the educational sector, teaching both in the UK and overseas and holding senior positions of responsibility. Sarah leads a team of educational trainers with specialisms in all areas of the early years and primary curriculum. Sarah delivers CPD courses in many nurseries and primary schools, providing individually tailored in-service training on a wide range of subjects. She works closely with the UK Pre-school Learning Alliance delivering their Quality Assurance schemes. EYES work with over 120 schools and nurseries in the UAE and Sarah enjoys close working relationships with many settings to support their development, regularly conversing with UAE Government Departments to ensure that the vision of best practice is shared.
Sarah also writes for local magazines on educational issues. Her positive and inclusive approach to situations allows her motivate learners to achieve their full potential and extend their best practice.
Clare Napper
B.Ed Spld
Clare has taught in both the UK and in the UAE. She has been teaching in primary schools for over 20 years and during this time has taught across the FS, KS1 & KS2. Clare has developed her interest in special education and had worked as Head of Learning Support in several schools. Clare enjoys working within the early years and understands the learning needs of young children and how to identify and meet these needs. Clare has worked with EYES from the beginning; she is now a senior tutor, teaching adults on the CACHE courses, and works with many early years professionals offering a range of in-service courses to extend their knowledge and skills, especially in the areas of Speaking and Listening, Developing Communication skills and SEN.
Karen Burns
B.Ed (Hons)
Karen has been a specialist teacher for physical education, working across the primary and early years for over 30 years. Karen has run her own company providing PE courses for primary school children and worked with many settings to support their delivery of the PE curriculum. She has recently been responsible for writing an early years PE programme to cover children’s developing physical needs. She now teaches adults on the CACHE courses, and works with many early years professionals offering a range of in-service courses to extend their knowledge of the importance of physical development and how it can support other areas of a child’s holistic development.
Clair Watson
B.Ed (Hons)
Clair has taught in many settings, from running a nursery in Kenya to working in primary schools in the UAE and has worked extensively with local education providers, as an Early Years advisor, to help to train their teachers to provide a more interactive curriculum. She has led INSET on a range of courses both here in the UAE and overseas, with her particular interests being in planning and assessment. Clair is a qualified First Aid trainer, a PADI trainer and swimming teacher, a Montessori teacher and has also completed a TEFL course.
Amanda Savory
BA + QTS Hons
Amanda has had extensive experience of running both Early Years and Primary departments in the UK and overseas. She has a wealth of knowledge in all areas of the curriculum with a special interest in working with Teaching Assistants and raising professional standards. Amanda has worked all over the Gulf training Teaching Assistants on a variety of courses such as Supporting the Numeracy strategy, Supporting the Literacy Strategy, How Children Learn, Effective Displays. She delivers the CACHE course both for the early years sector and for Teaching Assistants for many primary schools.
Anna Mitchell
BA (Hons) PGCE Educational Kinesiology
Anna is a qualified teacher and has had 20 year’s experience of teaching music in the classroom to all age ranges (foundation stage to ‘A’ level). She has taught in both primary and secondary schools in the UK and in international schools abroad. Her most recent position has been as Head of Music in one of the outstanding primary schools in Dubai. She is committed to the ethos of “music for all” and through her teaching her main focus is to foster an enthusiasm for music that will stay with pupils for life.
Whilst teaching music she discovered the Brain Gym® Programme. She pursued her studies in this area and is now a certified Educational Kinesiologist, Brain Gym Instructor and a professional member of the Educational Kinesiology Foundation.
Saima Yasin
BSc Social Science
Saima worked with the Racial Equality Council in UK whilst completing her Bachelors. An interest in Early Years and a move to the UAE led Saima to work in various British nurseries in Dubai. She has a particular interest in early years curriculum and planning and had responsibility for training teachers to focus their planning on children’s interest, development and needs and linking it with EYFS. For the past five years she worked in management roles, setting up and running nurseries in UAE. Saima has been involved in delivering staff in house training and CPD courses in Health and Safety, Classroom Management, Learning through play. She has completed her CACHE level 4 CMQS and TEFOL qualifications , and now teaches on CACHE level 2 and level 3 CYPW courses.
Lara Hudson
LLB
Lara has been involved in the education field for over 12 years, initially from running the award winning education department of one of the UK’s Zoos, educating children of all ages and adults. She has been directly involved in early years education for the last 9 years in Dubai. She started working in schools in the primary department and moved to management 7 years ago, setting up and running nurseries within Dubai. Lara is a great believer in the importance of ensuring that effective and workable Nursery Management systems are in place and has been passionate about developing strong early years curriculum to ensure the best possible start for children. Lara has developed a variety of literature in relation to the management of early years settings, and has provided consultation to a number of education institutes in the UAE.
Laura Parry
BA (Hons) PGCE
Laura is an Early Years Educator with experience, teaching in the UK and overseas. Laura has worked as a Pre- School Co-coordinator, liaising between pre -school settings and state primary schools. She has also set up and managed crèches in Italy and Cyprus working with children of different nationalities. Her teaching experience has covered the breadth of, Foundation Stage, KS1 and KS2, with specialisms being ICT, Numeracy, PE, Early Years and the Importance of Play. Laura has current, up to date experience of the new Early Years framework and the assessment under the new OFSTED framework.
